CAS Sets October 8 Hearing for Senegal’s AFCON 2025 Final Appeal
he Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled a hearing for October 8, 2026, in Lausanne, Switzerland, to consider the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) over the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
The appeal, registered by CAS on March 25, 2026, seeks to overturn a CAF decision declaring that Senegal forfeited the final and recording Morocco as 3-0 winners.
The FSF is asking CAS to declare Senegal the winners of AFCON 2025.
The hearing will be held behind closed doors at CAS headquarters after the parties did not request that it be made public.
CAS said the case is following its standard procedural timeline because no expedited procedure was agreed upon.
Following the hearing, the CAS Panel will begin its deliberations. However, the sports arbitration body stressed that it cannot yet indicate when a final decision will be issued and confirmed that no ruling will be delivered on the day of the hearing.
CAS also warned against inaccurate information circulating online regarding the case, stressing that only information released through its official channels should be considered authoritative.
