Chelle: ‘I Never Said Osimhen Wanted To Or Should Leave Galatasaray’

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has denied suggesting that Victor Osimhen wanted to leave Galatasaray or should seek a move away from the Turkish champions.

Chelle said his previous comments about a possible transfer were misunderstood, insisting that Osimhen remains happy at Galatasaray and that the club is satisfied with the Nigerian striker.

‘My previous words about a possible transfer were misinterpreted. Victor loves Galatasaray and the club is happy with him,’ Chelle said.

‘I consider Osimhen one of the best strikers in the world. When a player performs at this level, there are always transfer rumours about him. I never said he wanted to leave the club or that he should leave.’

Chelle also dismissed suggestions of a crisis between Nigeria and Galatasaray over Osimhen, who was initially included in Nigeria’s squad for the October international window before being withdrawn because of injury.
