Chelsea join race for Wilfred Ndidi

Chelsea have lined-up Nigerian international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as a possible acquisition next month when the winter transfer window opens. The 25 year old is one of the three midfielders Thomas Tuchel has reportedly identified the club could sign in the January transfer window, with N’Golo Kante continuing to struggle with injuries this season.

Kante has missed his side’s last four Premier League games through injury, while the Frenchman was also absent earlier this season due to a groin problem.
According to football.london, Chelsea have drawn up a three-man midfielder shortlist, with the Blues keen to boost their options in that area of the field at the start of 2022.

Ndidi, also linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid has been a revelation of sort since he switched Belgian side, RC Genk for Leicester City in January 2017 with the Nigerian winning the best tackler award twice.

The Super Eagle has made 613 tackles, the most by any Nigerian in the history of the Premier League with a 62% success rate and has made 336 interceptions,1,340 recoveries and 366 clearances. He has won 1,321 duels and 474 aerial battles.
