Chelsea vs Arsenal: Arteta gunning for 89th win in 150 games as Arsenal manager

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be gunning for his 89th win in 150 games as Arsenal manager when he leads the Gunners

to Stamford Bridge Sunday afternoon for a Premier League matchweek 15 fixture.

Arteta who joined Arsenal in December 2019 following the departure of now Aston Villa coach, Unai Emery has won 88 games

in the 149 games he has taken charge as manager and the victories include four in seven games against Arsenal.

The 40 year old Spaniard will also be looking to make history with the Gunners as they seek to win their third-straight

game at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1974.

They are however playing a Chelsea team who have remained unbeaten at the Bridge in their nine league home games since,

despite replacing Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter.

Arsenal will however be banking on the fact that Chelsea have lost three of their last four Premier League games against

them, more than they had in their previous 17.

The Gunners have also won their last four Premier League London derbies, last winning more consecutively between April and

October 2013 (5).

Meanwhile, Sunday’s fixture at Stamford Bridge will also see Arsenal come up against their former captain, Pierre-Emerick

Aubameyang for the first time since he left north London in January.

The Gabonese will be seeking to become just the second player to score for both sides in this fixture in the Premier

League (excluding own goals), after Cesc Fabregas.
