Chippa United set Nwabali asking transfer price at N2.245B
Chippa United of South Africa have placed a hefty R30 million (N2.245B) price tag on Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper has been in the news for all the positive reasons following his impressive performance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire between January and February this year.
Despite keeping a record equalling four clean sheets at AFCON, the 27 year old narrowly missed out on the Golden Gloves award to South Africa’s goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
His heroics in Cote d’Ivoire has significantly boosted his market value.
Thus, teams considering matching his new valuation would need to be prepared to make a substantial financial commitment.
There are interests in the Nigerian at home in South Africa where he plays and from abroad, precisely from England (Queens Park Rangers), Saudi Arabia (Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq) and Belgium (Victor Boniface former club, Royal Union Saint-Gilloise).
Chippa United owner Siviwe Mpengesi has openly discussed ongoing talks, particularly with international clubs, regarding their goalkeeper.
Mpengesi also previously confirmed the club’s willingness to consider offers from Premier Soccer League teams, stating they wouldn’t obstruct Nwabali’s departure if the offers were enticing enough.
