Chuba Akpom improves his market value to a career high of €7m

Free-scoring Middlesbrough forward, Chuba Akpom is now worth €7m in transfer value after transfermarkt adjusted the market values of 138 footballers in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

The Nigerian has been on fire this season, netting 24 times in 31 league appearances and 25 in 33 games across all competitions.

The former Arsenal player is fighting for promotion to the Premier League with Middlesbrough and his 24 goals have ensured Boro in playoff spot (third) in the battle for promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Akpom had seen his market value drop from the €3.5m career high valuation in October 2020 to €3.2m in Marxh 2021 and further down to €2.7m in October last year before jumping by over €4.5m to €7m last week.

The Championship’s top scorer for the ongoing season was a surprise omission in the Super Eagles squad list for the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifiers against Guinea Bissau.
