Chukwueze: ‘AC Milan fans will see a new Samu this season’

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has been lively for AC Milan in their pre-season tour of the USA as the Nigerian provided two assists in the Rossonnerri’s 3-2 defeat of Man City early Sunday morning in front of a sellout crowd at New York’s Yankee Stadium.

The Nigerian provided his first assist on 30 minutes as his clever ball into the far post headed home was head home by Lorenzo Colombo to draw AC Milan level after Erling Haaland had given the Cityens a 19th minute lead.

AC Milan then took the lead four minutes later and once again, the Nigerian and Colombo combined with the latter firing home once again at the far post.

At the end of the match, Luca Bianchin, La Gazzetta dello Sport in the United States – relayed some statements from the Nigerian on his X profile.

‘I like the new coach, he gave me an opportunity straight away, it’s important when someone trusts you. The fans will see a new Samu this year,’ he said.

Chukwueze joined AC Milan last July from LaLiga side, Villarreal and signed a deal till June 30, 2028.

The Super Eagles winger had an indifferent debut season in the Serie A and scored just thrice in 33 games across all competitions for the Rossonnerri.
