Chukwueze eyeing first LaLiga start in 10 games for Villarreal this season

Nigerian international winger Samuel Chukwueze will be seeking for his first LaLiga start of the season today at the Reale Seguros stadium when his club, Villareal face Real Sociedad in a MatchDay 18 tie.

The 22 year old is yet to start for the Yellow Submarine in either the LaLiga (nine games) and the Champions League (three games) so far this term but the winger has started and scored in each of the two Copa Del Rey games he has featured in and will feel he has done enough to convince gaffer Unai Emery he has done enough to start in his 101st game in the competition.

The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner last started a LaLiga game last May before he got injured in the Europa League semifnal clash against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium in London.

Chukwueze will not only be targetting his first start of the season in the competition but will also be eager to score his first goal against Sociedad on his fifth attempt.

The Nigerian has featured four times against their host today and has won twice, lost once and drew the other game. He has provided two assists and will be keen to have a direct goal involvement this time.

If he scores, it will be his second goal of the season and make Real Sociedad the ninth team he has scored against in the LaLiga with Barcelona accounting for three of the 13 goals he has scored in 100 appearances in the competition.
