Chukwueze loses LaLiga player of the month award to Griezmann

Villarreal left winger Samuel Chukwueze has missed the chance to be named LaLiga player of the month for the first time in
his LaLiga career after Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Grizemann scooped the award for the month of March.

Chukwueze who had a below average performance for Nigeria in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against
Guinea Bissau scored once and bagged two assists in the three games he featured in last month.

That obviously was not enough to earn him the award as Griezmann netted twice and bagged an assist in three games to be
named the best in the LaLiga for the month of March.

The French star scoops the award after a series of sensational performances which saw his team Atletico Madrid win every single one of their March fixtures.

In winning the LaLiga Player of the Month for March the Atletico hitman claims his seventh such prize in Spanish football.

He follows in the footsteps of RC Celta’s Gabri Veiga who was Player of the Month for February.

Griezmann fought off stiff competition from Enes Unal (Getafe CF), Raphinha (FC Barcelona), Iago Aspas (RC Celta), Samu Chukwueze (Villarreal CF), Borja Iglesias (Real Betis) and David Silva (Real Sociedad) to come out on top of the voting
