Chukwueze Set For 120th LaLiga Appearance

Targets first goal, first win in six games vs Atletico Madrid

Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will make his 120th appearance in the LaLiga if he gets to play a part when his club, Villarreal visit the Civitas Metropolitano where they will face their host, Atletico Madrid in a matchday two fixture.

The Super Eagle will also be seeking to make his 65th start in the competition.

Chukwueze made his LaLiga debut in November 2018 and has scored 15 times and bagged 14 assists in 119 appearances.

If he scores on Sunday, it will not just be his first of the season but also his 16th in 120 games. It will also be his first in six appearances against Diego Simone’s Atletico Madrid.

The Nigerian has featured five times against their host, starting two of the games. He is however yet to win in any of the five as he has drawn two and lost three times.

Chukwueze missed the last two fixtures against Atletico Madrid last season due to a harmstring trouble and the 23 year old will be hoping to start his third game in six appearances and record his first win.

Sunday’s game will also be his 160th in the colours of Villarreal across all competitions. He has scored 25 times and bagged 22 assists.

It will also be his 81st game under Unai Emery and if he scores, it will be his 13th since the former Arsenal manager changed the Emirates stadium for the Estadio Mestalla.
