Cremonese 1-3 Atalanta: Ademola Lookman ends goal drought with 13th of the season

Ademola Lookman ended his two month old goal drought Saturday when he netted Atalanta’s third goal in a 3-1 win away at Cremonese.

The Nigerian scored 12 times in his first 19 games for Atalanta after he joined from German Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig last summer but has failed to find the way to the opponents’ goal in his last seven games.

The 25 year old however ended that dry run at the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona where he netted his first goal since the end of January with almost the last kick of the game.

Lookman started the game on the bench for the third Serie A game running and was introduced for Luis Muriel at the start of the second half.

The former Leicester City player now stands alone as the third top scorer in the league with 13 goals, eight behind his Nigerian compatriot, Victor Osimhen who will missNapoli’s game against AC Milan on Sunday and just one shy of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez who will play against Fiorentina later on Saturday.
