Cremonese Vs Atalanta: Okereke out, Lookman seeking for first Serie A goal in over 60 days

David Okereke will not be available for selection for Cremonese Saturday when the club hosts Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta in a serie A matchday 28 game at the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona, Italy.

The 25 year is yet to recover from the tear he suffered in the abductor muscle just before the international break.

Cremonese coach Davide Ballardini confirmed the unavailability of his Nigerian striker at the pre-match press conference.

“There will be no Okereke in the match at Atalanta. He has not recovered from the injury he suffered justbefore the international break,’ said the coach who is seeking to perform a miracle for the bottom of the log side.

Okereke has netted seven times in 29 games across all competitions for the relagation haunted side with five of the goals scored in 25 Serie A games.

Meanwhile, Lookman will be seeking for his first start in three Serie A games for the visitors.

The 25 year old will also be looking to return to scoring ways after failing to find the back of the net since he scored in Atalanta’s 2-0 defeat of Sampdoria at the end of January.

The former Leicester City forward has netted 12 times in 26 Serie A games for Atalanta in his first season in the competition.
