De Gea: ‘Unfair that Arsenal didn’t play’

Speaks on Casemiro's loss for Arsenal game

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is lamenting they will face a well rested Arsenal team when they travel to the Emirates stadium on Sunday for one of the most anticipated Premier League games of the season.

The Spaniard was in top form on Wednesday at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night where his side gave up a one goal lead to draw 1-1 with their host, Crystal Palace to lose two valuable points and now trail Sunday’s opponent by eight points

De Gea told Skysports TV after the game why they lost two points and the impact Casemiro’s absence will likely have against the rampaging Gunners.

“We lost control of the game and then they start to create chances and they scored from the free kick.

“If we want to win in these games, we have to control them until the end. We dropped two points today.

“I was pleased with my save in the first half and I thought it was over me so I just touched it with my fingers and then we scored a few minutes later so it was good. The feeling at the end was not so good because we didn’t win.

“They scored the goal and in the end they deserved the point.

On Wout Weghorst’s debut: “He did really well. On set pieces he is a big lad, he helps us in both areas and I think it was a great debut.”

On Casemiro’s yellow card: “Big blow to lose Casemiro for Sunday. I don’t get it why Arsenal don’t play as we have to play in the same week and they don’t. Now we are missing one of our best players. I don’t understand. Now we miss him for a big game and it is a big loss for us.”
