Eagles off to Kigali to seek first win since 2012 against the Amavubi

The Super Eagles of Nigeria flew out of the Victor Attah Airport in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital Sunday afternoon to Kigali, Rwanda where they will face the Amavubi of Rwanda in their second 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game.

The Nigerians walloped the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin 3-0 in their first game of the campaign in Uyo on Saturday and will be seeking to continue with their perfect run in the qualifiers.

The Super Eagles plan two training sessions in Kigali before the clash with the home team.

Austin Eguavoen and his men will be seeking to win for the first time in 2012 against the Amavubi who they have met four times with three of the games ending in a draw.

The Super Eagles defeated the Amavubi 2-0 in June 2012 at the U.J Esuene stadium in Calabar via goals from Ikechukwu Uche and Ahmed Musa after drawing the first leg at the
Stade Régional Nyamirambo in Kigali in February of the same year in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2013 AFCON.
