Emmanuel Dennis out for Watford’s FA Cup match at Leicester

Emmanuel Dennis has been ruled out of Watford’s FA Cup third round tie at Leicester City with an injury.

The striker was substituted during the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend due to a slight knock and will not be risked this weekend.

Hornets’ boss Claudio Ranieri however downplayed the severity of the injury to his Nigerian talisman.

”Emmanuel took a kick in the match against Tottenham, then I prefer to preserve him for the next matches.

‘It’s not too serious but I want to preserve,’ says the Italian.

The 24 year old will be hoping for a Watford win so as to have another opportunity to make his debut in the oldest and most glamorous domestic cup football in the world.

Dennis has featured in19 matches for Watford since he switched from Belgian side, Club Brugge to Watford in the summer.

He has scored eight goals and bagged five assist in 17 Premier League games. He has started 16 of the 17 games while he has made two substitute appearances in the two EFL (Carabao) Cup he has featured.

Watford will be hoping Dennis recovers in time for their trip to St James’ Park for their must not lose Premier League fixture against Newcastle next Friday.
