Emotional Farewell as Super Eagles Captain, Ndidi Lays Father to Rest in Delta State

It was an emotionally charged day in Umunede, Delta State, as Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi and his siblings broke down in tears during the burial rites of their late father, Mr. Sunday Ndidi.
The solemn atmosphere reached its peak when the officiating pastor asked the family to open the casket for final confirmation.
Standing side by side, Ndidi and his siblings could no longer restrain their emotions, with tears flowing freely as mourners shared in their grief.
The ceremony drew a wide array of personalities from across Nigeria and beyond.
Among those present were top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), representatives of international football bodies, sports administrators, political leaders including delegates from the Delta State Government, teammates, community leaders, and well-wishers.
Mr. Sunday Ndidi, who tragically lost his life in a road accident, was celebrated as a pillar of support whose influence shaped the resilience and character of his son, now one of Nigeria’s most respected footballers.
Wilfred Ndidi was consoled by teammates, family members, and dignitaries as prayers were offered for the repose of his father’s soul.
