Enekwechi Dominates Shot Put, Okezie Smashes Personal Best at Simbine Classic

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi extended his dominance of the African shot put scene with another commanding performance at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Simbine Classic in Pretoria, South Africa.

The two-time World Championships finalist hit the 21-metre mark for the second time in a week, throwing 21.17m to claim victory ahead of Italy’s Zane Weir (20.70m) and South Africa’s Aiden Smith (20.50m).

The Nigerian, who also reached the Olympic final, remains the continental leader following his 21.74m effort at the Drake Relays in the United States just days earlier. His consistency has reinforced his status as Africa’s top contender in the discipline.

Elsewhere at the Pilditch Stadium, reigning African Games 400m champion Chidi Okezie impressed with a new personal best in the 300m.

Okezie clocked 32.05 seconds, a significant improvement on his previous mark of 32.68 set four years ago, underlining his readiness for the World Relays in Gaborone, Botswana this weekend.
