Enekwechi Finishes Ninth in Zurich as Geist Claims Shot Put Victory

African shot put record holder and Commonwealth Games champion Chukwuebuka Enekwechi finished ninth at the Weltklasse Zurich, the 14th and penultimate meeting of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season.
The Nigerian opened his campaign with a throw of 20.27m before improving to 20.43m in the second round, but could not better the mark in his remaining attempts after fouling his third throw.
American Jordan Geist won the competition with a throw of 22.53m, ahead of Jamaica’s Rajindra Campbell, who threw 22.22m, while Italy’s Leonardo Fabbri placed third with 22.16m.
New Zealand’s Tom Walsh, who surrendered his Commonwealth Games title to Enekwechi in Glasgow, finished sixth with his opening-round effort of 21.48m.
