Enekwechi Returns to Ostrava for Golden Spike Meeting

African shot put record holder Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will return to the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on Tuesday, marking his comeback to the prestigious World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event.

The Nigerian star, fresh off his appearance at the USTAF Grand Prix in Los Angeles on Sunday, missed the 64th edition of the Golden Spike in 2025 but is now set to compete again at the Městský Stadium, where he last threw 21.34m to claim third place in 2024.

At 33, Enekwechi remains one of Africa’s most consistent performers in the discipline and will face a familiar rival in Leonardo Fabbri of Italy, who has dominated the last two editions of the Ostrava meeting.
