England players to shake hands with Thomas Partey

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will feature in the Black Stars’ crucial FIFA World Cup 2026™ Group L clash against England in Boston, despite ongoing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.

Partey missed Ghana’s opening 1-0 victory over Panama after being denied entry into Canada but has now been permitted to enter the United States, clearing the way for his participation.

England players are expected to proceed with the traditional pre-match handshake with Partey, as the English FA has not issued any special instructions.

Manager Thomas Tuchel emphasized that the squad must remain focused on football rather than off-field matters.

‘A World Cup squad should be seen as a football team, not a political statement,’ Tuchel said.

Ghana arrive in Boston buoyed by their dramatic 95th-minute winner against Panama, a result that lifted morale and strengthened their position in the group.

The Black Stars will look to build on that momentum as they face an England side determined to assert themselves in the tournament.
