Enyimba lose first NPFL game in three months, crash 2-0 in Kano
Enyimba international of Aba lost 2-0 to Kano Pillars on Thursday in their matchday 14 rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League game at the Sani Abacha stadium in Knao.
Two goals, one in each half by Abba Adam, were enough to give the Sai Masu Gida, led by former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa their eighth league win of the 2024/25 season.
Adam scored the first of his two goals on 26 minutes as he slotted the ball home after beating his marker following a lovely pass from Ibrahim Inuwa. He was on target again in the 72nd minute to ensure the victory which moved his side to seventh on the log with 28 points from 19 games, one more than Enyimba who moved to eighth on the log.
The match was the eighth NPFL match between the two sides that ended in wins for the home team and this will be the fifth time in a row the away team has failed to score in this fixture.
Prior to the defeat in Kano, Enyimba have not lost a game in the competition since October 20, 2024 when they lost 1-0 in Maiduguri to El-Kanemi Warriors.
