Enyimba sack coach Yemi Olanrewaju, re-hire Stanley Eguma

Enyimba FC have sacked coach Yemi Olarenwaju fondly called Yema and have hired Stanley Eguma as his replacement.

The Peoples Elephant made the announcement on Saturday via its social media pages and also announced the re-engagement of Eguma.

‘Enyimba can confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olarenwaju. The club thanks Coach Olarenwaju for his services and wishes him the best in his future endeavors,’ the club wrote on its X handle.

Enyimba have gone nine games without a win in both the Nigeria Premier Football League and the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Yema was assistant to Finidi George when Enyimba won the NPFL title and was elevated to the position of head coach following the appointment of Finidi as the Super Eagles head coach.

The two-time CAF Champions League winner also announced the return of Eguma who was sacked by Rivers United last month.
