Enyimba to open CAF Confederation Group stage campaign against Al Masry SC next month in Egypt
Nigeria’s lone representative in Confederation of African Football clubs’ competitions, Enyimba of Aba will begin their group stage campaign in the Confederation Cup in Egypt at the end of November.
The Peoples’ Elephant have been drawn in group D of the competition against two Egyptian sides, Zamalek SC and Al Masry SC as well as Black Bulls of Mozambique.
Al Masry SC will play host to the Nigerians on November 28 at the El Geish Stadium in Alexandria.
Enyimba will host Cup holders, Zamalek 10 days later at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital before travelling to Maputo to play Black Bulls of Mozambique on December 15, seven days after facing Zamalek to complete the fixtures for this year.
The Nigerians will open their campaign in the competition in the new year with a home game against the Mozambicans. The Aba-based side will play again at home seven days later when they host Al Masry SC before travelling to Cairo to face Zamalek in their final group game.
Enyimba will be hoping to be ne f the two clubs from the group to qualify for the quarterfinals.
