Enyimba unveil ex-Eagles star, Ideye, target first NPFL win in two months

Enyimba FC of Aba on Monday unveiled former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye as the latest addition to the team that has been struggling to score goals in the last month.
The club announced the deal in a post on its X account on Monday.
‘We are delighted to officially announce the addition of former Super Eagles Striker, Brown Ideye to our fold… we are expectant of the experience and professionalism he will add to our game/quest in our remaining games, this season especially under the New Gaffer,’ wrote the club.
The 36-year-old who joined Kuwaiti side, Al-Yarmouk SC has joined Enyimba on a free transfer.
Enyimba will hope Ideye, who has scored 159 goals in 417 appearances for various clubs across Europe including Premier League side, West Bromwich Albion where he netted seven times in 31 appearances, can fire them up the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, table.
The Peoples Elephant have not scored in the NPFL since November 17 when they netted in the 1-1 draw at Abia Warriors.
Meanwhile, Enyimba will host Bendel Insurance on Tuesday in their final game of 2024 and they will be hoping for their first win in 10 games across all competitions and first in seven NPFL matches.
The last time Enyimba won in the NPFL was in late October at the Enyimba international stadium where a Moses Adikwu’s 92nd minute goal gave them a 2-1 win over visiting Ikorodu City FC.
