EPL Market Values: Saliba Hits €100m Milestone, Saka Drops To €110m
Transfermarkt has released its latest Premier League market value update this June, adjusting figures for 524 players.
The overall value of the division dropped by €240 million, leaving the English top-flight at €12.37 billion, still by far the most valuable league in world football.
Among the biggest winners were Bournemouth teenager Junior Kroupi, Manchester City playmaker Rayan Cherki, and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Bournemouth’s squad value rose significantly thanks to Kroupi’s breakthrough season, while Tottenham Hotspur endured the steepest decline, losing €111m in squad value after flirting with relegation.
Arsenal centre-back William Saliba reached a historic milestone, becoming only the second defender ever to hit a €100m market value, following Virgil van Dijk in 2019.
‘Saliba has had yet another amazing season at Arsenal,’ said Premier League market value coordinator Ben Littlemore.
‘Few players in world football can match his ability at the back, and every team in the world would want Saliba in their team. He is now worth €20m more than any other centre-back in the world.’ Saliba’s partner Gabriel remains at €75m.
At the other end of the scale, several high-profile attackers saw their values downgraded.
Bukayo Saka dropped by €10m to €110m, while Florian Wirtz and Cole Palmer both fell from €110m to €100m. Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo also slipped €10m to €100m. The biggest individual loss came for Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski, who fell by €18m to €17m after more than a year without playing.
Spurs also saw downgrades for Alexander Isak (-€15m to €85m), Micky van de Ven (-€15m to €50m), and Rodri (-€15m to €50m).
Meanwhile, Kroupi’s rise was the standout story of the update. The teenager scored 13 Premier League goals in his debut campaign, boosting his value by €30m to €70m.
‘Adapting to the Premier League is so hard, but Kroupi looks right at home,’ Littlemore explained. ‘To do what he has done at such a young age is not normal.’
Cherki also impressed, registering 12 assists in his first season at Manchester City, which saw his value jump €25m to €90m.
