Brendan Rodgers to oversee 300th league fixture, Unai Emery set to make Aston Villa history

Arsenal can equal their club record of seven straight Premier League home wins from the start of a season when they host West Ham Monday at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners have won all their six Premier League home games this season, beating Leicester, Fulham, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Liverpool and Nothingham Forest.

Victory against West Ham on Boxing Day would equal their longest winning home run from the start of a top-flight campaign, matching 1934/35, 2005/06 and 2017/18 seasons.

Mikel Arteta’s men will be banking on their record so far in the Premier League and particularly against the Hammers. The Gunners have suffered defeat just twice in their last 28 Premier League games against West Ham, winning 21 of those. In fact, we have only beaten Everton (35) more often than the Hammers (34) in the division.

This is the third time the two sides are meeting in a Premier League match on Boxing Day, with Arsenal winning 1-0 at home in 1998 and 3-1 away in 2013.

Arsenal have also won their last 10 home games on Boxing Day, last suffering a home defeat on the day after Christmas back in 1987 against Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers, on the other hand have won just one of their last eight Boxing Day games (D3 L4), beating Swansea City 4-1 in 2016.

Meanwhile, Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers will be taking charge of his 300th Premier League fixture when the Foxes host Newcastle at the King Palace stadium while Unai Emery can become the first Villa head coach or manager to win his first three league matches.

Arsenal’s north London neighbours,Tottenham will like to extend their Boxing Day unbeaten run to 16, the longest such run in Premier League history.

At Goodison Park, Julen Lopetegui can be the first Wolves boss since 1978 to win his debut top-flight match, with the last 10 failing.
