Everton Vs Man City: Iwobi guns for 90th EPL win, set to equal personal appearance record

Alex Iwobi will be seeking for his 90th win in 219 Premier League appearances if he helps Everton to victory against visiting Manchester City at the Goodison Park on Sunday.

The 27 year old has been phenomenal this season for the Toffees, scoring twice. He has provided a Nigeria-record equalling seven assists in a single Premier League season.

Everton boss, Sean Dyche will be banking on the versatile Nigerian to produce another goal involvement for the third straight game as they seek to escape the drop.

Iwobi scored in the 2-2 draw at Leicester City and provided Dwight McNeil with a 76th minute assist for Everton’s fourth goal in their 5-1 demolition of Brighton at the Amex stadium last weekend.

The Nigerian has neither scored nor provided any assist in eight Premier League games he featured in against Man City so far in the competition but Iwobi can propel the Toffees to a famous win.

If this happens, it will be his 90th and first in nine games against the league leaders and defending champion.

If he plays, it will also be his 35th this season which equals the number of appearances he has made in a Premier League season. Unlike in 2018/19 when he featured 35 times, starting just 22, he will be setting a personal record of starting 35 straight Premier League games in 35 games.
