Falconets Coach Aduku to Attend FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Draw in Poland

Nigeria’s U20 women’s team head coach Moses Aduku and team administrator Kelechi Omeke will represent the Falconets at Friday’s official draw ceremony for the 12th FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The event will take place at the EC1 Cultural Centre in Łódź.

Nigeria, alongside Benin Republic, Ghana, and Tanzania, secured Africa’s four slots at the 24-nation tournament, scheduled for September 5-27 across the Polish cities of Łódź, Katowice, Sosnowiec, and Bielsko-Biała.

The draw will divide the 24 qualified teams into six groups of four, with Nigeria placed in Pot 2 alongside USA, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and New Zealand.

Ghana, making their eighth appearance, is in Pot 3 with South Korea, England, Argentina, China, and Italy.

This year’s edition introduces six debutants: hosts Poland, Portugal, New Caledonia, Ecuador, Tanzania, and Benin Republic.

In a historic twist, Germany will miss out for the first time ever, despite having previously defeated Nigeria in the 2010 and 2014 finals.

Europe will be represented by Poland, France, Italy, England, Portugal, and Spain, while Asia fields China, South Korea, Japan, and North Korea.

North and Central America bring Mexico, USA, and Costa Rica; South America features Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, and Colombia; and Oceania is represented by New Zealand and New Caledonia.
