Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets, defeated hosts Poland 1-0 in a friendly match at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday as part of their final preparations for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

Mary Mamudu scored the decisive goal in added time of the first half to give Coach Moses Aduku’s side a morale-boosting victory ahead of their opening game against Spain on Monday, September 7.

The two-time World Cup runners-up will play their final warm-up match against the Republic of Korea at the Remes Sports Leisure and Spa Stadium on Tuesday, September 1.

After facing Spain, the Falconets will take on China on September 10 before rounding off their Group-stage campaign against New Caledonia on September 13.
