FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: Flamingos Draw Poland, Puerto Rico and Korea DPR

Nigeria’s Flamingos have been drawn in Group B alongside Poland, Puerto Rico and two-time champions Korea DPR for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The draw sets up an exciting group-stage campaign for the Nigerian girls, who secured their place at the tournament after defeating Benin’s Young Amazons 8-5 on aggregate in the final round of the African qualifiers.

The Flamingos won the first leg 3-2 at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne before completing qualification with a 5-3 victory in the return leg in Lomé.

Akeem Busari’s side will begin their World Cup campaign against Poland on October 17 at the Women’s Football Complex in Rabat.

Nigeria will then face Puerto Rico on October 20 before rounding off their Group B fixtures against Korea DPR on October 23 in what is expected to be the group’s toughest encounter.

The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 10th edition of the competition, will be hosted by Morocco from October 17 to November 7, with the Flamingos aiming to build on their impressive performances in previous editions of the tournament.
