FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier: Falconets Open Camp Ahead of Senegal Showdown

Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, have officially resumed camping in Abuja as preparations intensify for their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash with Senegal.

The team opened camp on Saturday, January 4, 2026, at the Westpoint Hotel, with 17 players already in attendance.

More invited players are expected to join in the coming days to complete the squad. Training sessions have begun in earnest, focusing on tactical organization, team cohesion, and physical conditioning.

Head Coach Moses Aduku confirmed that preparations are on track, with structured training programmes designed to sharpen tactical discipline, game intelligence, and overall team organization.

‘Our assessments are ongoing, and the players are responding well. We are working to ensure the team is fully ready for the challenge ahead,’ Aduku said.

Nigeria will host the first leg of the third-round qualifier against Senegal at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, February 7. The return leg is scheduled for Saturday, February 14 in Dakar.

The winners will advance closer to securing a spot at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals, which will be staged later this year in Poland.
