Foden warns Premier League Rivals: There’s More To Come From My Partnership With Haaland!

Phil Foden and Erling Haaland made history on Sunday as the first Manchester City players to score a hat-trick each in a single Premier League game following the demolition of Manchester United in the 188th Manchester Derby at the Etihad stadium.

The duo also made Manchester City the third side to have two hat-trick scorers in a single Premier League game, after Arsenal v Southampton in May 2003 (Jermaine Pennant and Robert Pires) and Leicester v Southampton in October 2019 (Ayoze Pérez and Jamie Vardy).

Foden who not only scored his first Manchester Derby goal but also his first hat-trick for the club he supported as a boy says there’s plenty of scope for his partnership with Haaland to improve.

“He’s showing there’s more to his [Haaland’s] game,” Foden said.

“His link-up play and even assists – he found me for two of the goals today.

“What’s crazy is he’s only been here for a short time and there’s a lot more we can do and build on.

“Hopefully we can continue to get better.”
