Ghana Athletics Opens Portal For 2027 Events, Announces November 30 Deadline

Ghana Athletics has opened submissions for events to be included in its official 2027 competition calendar.

The governing body, in a press release issued from its Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium, has invited all event organizers, institutions, schools, corporate organizations, promoters and other stakeholders planning to organize athletics competitions in Ghana next year to submit their proposals for consideration.

According to the federation, the calendar covers both Track and Field and Road Running Races, and its preparation is already underway.

Organizers are required to submit seven key details: name of the event, proposed date(s), venue/location, type/category of competition, organizer/promoter, contact details of the organizer, and any other relevant information concerning the event.

The deadline for all submissions is 30th November, 2026.

Ghana Athletics says it will review all proposed dates and coordinate the national calendar to minimize clashes between events and ensure effective development and administration of athletics activities across the country.

The federation also issued a strong warning to organizers who fail to comply.

“Ghana Athletics wishes to emphasize that events not submitted within the stipulated period and subsequently organized without prior notification or approval may be subject to penalties in accordance with the applicable Ghana Athletics regulations and competition policies,” the statement said.

It added that organizers are strongly encouraged to comply with the directive to ensure their events are properly submitted and captured in the official 2027 calendar, which will serve as the official reference for all sanctioned and recognized athletics competitions for the year.

Ghana Athletics expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders as it works to promote better coordination, professionalism, transparency and sustainable development of athletics in Ghana.
