Golden Eaglets Head to Yinchuan for Four-Nation Event
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, five-time FIFA U17 World Cup champions, will depart the country on Thursday night for China to participate in the prestigious four-nation China International Youth Football Tournament scheduled for July 5-11 in Yinchuan.
The competition, hosted by the Chinese Football Association, Ningxia Hul Autonomous Region Administration of Sport, and Yinchuan Municipal People’s Government, is organized by the Ningxia Football Association in collaboration with the Yinchuan Sports Bureau and promoted by the China Football Industry Development Corporation.
Nigeria’s 20-man squad will be led by head coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse, assisted by Kalli Mohammed Kachalla and Abdullahi Isa. The Golden Eaglets will face hosts China, Australia, and Tanzania, with matches to be staged at the Helanshan Stadium in Yinchuan Sports Centre.
The tournament is designed to serve as a preparatory platform for the Golden Eaglets as they continue their build-up to the WAFU B U17 Championship in September, which doubles as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
