Guardiola: Premier League title race will go down to the wire

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola says the Premier League title race could go down to the wire.

Man City moved level with Liverpool on 65 points after beating Aston Villa 4-1 on Wednesday while Arsenal are two points ahead following their 2-0 defeat of Luton Town. Liverpool could move a point ahead of Man City and Arsenal if they beat Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday but Guardiola is confident both Arsenal and Liverpool will still drop points.

‘If we win all our games it will be down to the last day because they are not five, six, seven points in front,’ Guardiola said after Wednesday’s comprehensive annihilation of Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at the Etihad.

‘It will not be easy. I see Liverpool and Arsenal dropping points but you never know.

‘We have to show up and do our job and don’t regret that we should have won that game because they lost the game after.

‘We cannot do anything. We cannot control what they do. We have to win our games, that’s all we can do.’
