Harmstring injury forces Ndidi out for three weeks

Midfielder to miss EPL games versus Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Wolves

Leicester City will be without midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for a few weeks following the relapse of the harmstring injury that kept him out of Super Eagles 2-1 loss to Algeria in an international friendly last week.

The 25 year old was substituted at half-time in Foxes’ 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest after feeling pain in his hamstring.

That injury, it is understood, will now force him to sit out for around three weeks, which could see him miss games against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds, and Wolves.

”Ndidi will probably be out for a little bit,’ Rodgers said at his press conference on Thursday afternoon.  ‘He came back from international duty with a minor hamstring strain.  He recovered well, but he felt at half-time on Monday it was sore again. He will miss a few weeks,’ said the Foxes gaffer.

The Nigerian’s injury situation is getting alarming after missing the last 12 Premier League games and four Europa Conference League games last season due to a knee injury.

The reason prior to that (2020/21), the Nigerian missed over 15 games due to injury.

He missed Leicester City’s first four Europa League games, eight Premier League games and an EFL Cup game due to a tear in his abductor muscle.

He missed later missed three more Premier League games in the second half of the season due to a thigh muscle strain.
