Hull City Close in on Big-Money Move for Femi Azeez

Premier League newcomers Hull City are reportedly closing in on a big-money move for Millwall winger Femi Azeez as manager Sergej Jakirovic looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the club’s return to the top flight.

According to The Sun, Hull have moved into pole position for the 25-year-old after making significant progress in their pursuit, while Millwall have already rejected a record transfer offer for the winger. The bid reportedly exceeded the £14.5 million fee the Lions received from Crystal Palace for Romain Esse.

Millwall are understood to be reluctant to lose Azeez but recognise that it could prove difficult to retain their attacking star if Hull or another interested club returns with an improved offer.

Azeez enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. His pace, direct running and ability to produce goals from wide areas have attracted attention from clubs in England and across Europe.

Ipswich Town previously made a formal approach for Azeez in January but have yet to return with an improved bid, leaving Hull in a strong position as they attempt to secure his signature.

Jakirovic reportedly views Azeez as an ideal marquee signing for Hull’s Premier League campaign, with the club’s ambitious owner Acun Ilıcalı continuing to invest heavily in an effort to establish the Tigers in the top flight.
