‘I Am Focused on My Job’: Osimhen Breaks Silence on Transfer Speculation

Victor Osimhen has refused to be distracted by continued transfer speculation, insisting that his focus remains on his job at Galatasaray after the Turkish champions were held to a 2-2 draw by newcomers Çorum FK in their opening 2026/27 Trendyol Süper Lig fixture.

Osimhen scored twice to rescue Galatasaray from a shock defeat at Rams Park, putting the hosts ahead in the 53rd minute before Çorum FK turned the game around. The Nigeria international eventually restored parity in the 90th minute to earn his side a point.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS after the match, Osimhen acknowledged that the new season would be challenging and called the result a wake-up call for Galatasaray.

‘It will be a difficult season. The team is also aware. I am ready to give everything for this club,’ Osimhen said.

‘This was an important match as a wake-up. It was also a wake-up call for the players. We have to give everything on the field. Our fans give incredible energy and always support us. We need to give back.’

The striker also stressed the need for Galatasaray to build momentum ahead of their Champions League campaign.

‘We need to gain momentum before the Champions League. We need to fight very well from the next match,’ he added.

Asked directly about the transfer rumours surrounding his future, Osimhen played down the speculation and suggested that he would leave decisions about his career until later.

‘There are always rumours in transfer seasons. I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job. Then we will see and think further,’ the Nigerian said.
