Masai Russell of the United States delivered another commanding performance in the women’s 100m hurdles, winning in 12.24 seconds to equal the meet record but falling short of the anticipated world record.

The victory extended her winning streak and reinforced her status as one of the most consistent hurdlers in the world.

Russell, speaking after the race, emphasized execution over records. ‘I mean it was just a good execution. Honestly, just stacking wins in the women’s 100 hurdles is always a blessing.

‘I know people expected the world record and all these crazy fast times, but you know in the sprints you can’t control it.

‘It just happens when it happens, and yeah. I’m honestly just blessed to continue the winning streak going against these really amazing women.’

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan finished second in 12.34, while Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas took third in 12.41.

Grace Stark of the USA matched Charlton’s time but placed fourth, while Jamaica’s Danielle Williams set a season best of 12.51 for fifth.
