Iheanacho arrives in Seville to seal LaLiga move

Kelechi Iheanacho has arrived in Seville to complete his move to Seville as a free agent. The Nigerian touched down at the San Pablo airport Tuesday evening and he will undergo his medicals on Wednesday with a formal announcement as a Seville player for the next two years expected to be thereafter.

Sevilla’s sporting director, Víctor Orta, welcomed the Nigerian striker at San Pablo airport. The player is expected to be available for the August 5 match against Fulham FC at the Algarve Stadium.

Iheanacho is finally leaving England where he played in the Premier League for eight seasons with Manchester City and Leicester City.

He will become a Sevilla player when he completes the relevant medical examination and signs his signature, becoming the fifth signing of the Sevillian club after the arrivals of Ejuke, Lokonga, Peque and Sául.

The 27-year-old will be aiming to help Sevilla back towards the top of La Liga under new head coach Garcia Pimienta after they came 14th last term, their lowest finishing position since they returned to the Spanish top tier in 2001. Iheanacho should be a starter too, with Sevilla’s top scorer Youssef En-Nesyri sold to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce this summer.
