Iheanacho eyes second goal and fifth win in 13 games vs Chelsea
Ndidi targets third goal also in 13 appearances vs Blues
Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking to score his second goal and secure his fifth win in 13 games across all competitions against Chelsea when he visits Stamford Bridge Saturday with his club, Lecester City in a Premier League matchweek four fixture.
The Super Eagles forward made his 170th Premier League appearance when Leicester lost 2-1 at the King Palace stadium to Joe Aribo’s Southampton last weekend.
The Foxes striker was subbed on for the 100th time in the game.
However, Leicester and Chelsea will square off at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon with the two teams having endured indifferent starts to the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Iheanacho on his own part has faced Chelsea twelve times in different competitions with four wins, two draws and six losses in his record while scoring just a Premier League goal.
His only goal against Chelsea came in 2021 in a 2-1 loss, helping him enter the Premier League record book as the first player to score in every day of the week in the same season.
Iheanacho has so far netted 37 goals in 170 Premier League outings for both Manchester City and Leicester since making his debut for the former against Watford on August 29, 2015.
The Nigerian international who returned to form in the 2020/21 season has made 124 EPL appearances for Leicester, scoring 25 goals since he joined the Foxes from Man City in 2017.
Before he made the switch to the King Power stadium, the 25-year-old hit the back of the net twelve times in 46 Premier League matches after making twelve starts for the Citizens.
Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi also made his 210th appearance across all competitions for Leicester in their home loss to Southampton last weekend, starting and finishing the encounter.
The midfielder will also be making his 13th appearance overall against Chelsea with the 25-year-old having scored twice in 12 matches versus the Blues.
