Iheanacho gunning for fifth goal in 11 games vs Man United

Ndidi targets first goal also in 11 appearances against Red Devils

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho will be hoping to open his goal account for the 2022/23 Premier League season against familiar foes, Manchester United who are

visiting the King Palace stadium Thursday evening.

The Nigerian is yet to score in the Premier League in three appearances so far this term and last scored in the competition in the Foxes’ 3-1 defeat at Tottenham

Hotspur in January.

The former Manchester City forward will now be be banking on his goal scoring record against Ten Hag’s men to rediscover his scoring touch.

Iheanacho has scored four times in 10 appearances against the Red Devils with two coming in the Premier League (both away at Old Trafford) and two in the FA Cup (both

at the King Power stadium).

The 26 year old has only scored more against Aston Villa (6 across all competitions) and Crystal Palace (5 across all competitions with four in the Premier League).

Last season the Nigerian provided an assist in the 4-2 defeat of Manchester United at the King Power stadium and scored in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.

If he scores once Thursday evening, he will become the second Nigerian forward after Yakubu Aiyegbeni (five goals in 17 appearances with four in the Premier League) in

Premier League history to score five goals across all competitions against Manchester United.

Iheanacho’s compatriot at the King Power stadium, Wilfred Ndidi will be seeking a return to the starting line up after playing a cameo role last weekend.

Ndidi who like Iheanacho has featured 10 times against the Red Devils will however be seeking to score his first goal against the visitors.
