Iheanacho Injury Scare: Bursaspor Coach Offers Reassuring Update

Bursaspor coach Mustafa Er has played down concerns over Kelechi Iheanacho’s injury after the Nigerian striker was forced off during their 4-2 away victory over Ankara Keçiörengücü in Turkey’s Trendyol 1. Lig.
Iheanacho suffered the injury during the matchday 12 encounter on Sunday but received immediate treatment from the medical team, raising concerns among Bursaspor supporters over the condition of their prolific forward.
However, Er offered a reassuring update, explaining that the decision to withdraw the former Leicester City and Sevilla striker was largely precautionary.
‘There is a small problem with Kelechi. We didn’t want to push too hard. He wanted to continue, but we didn’t want to risk it. We were already ahead 4-2, and we got the score,’ the coach said, according to Turkish newspaper Bursa Hakimiyet.
Iheanacho had celebrated scoring again for Bursaspor before the injury interrupted his afternoon, but his coach was unwilling to risk aggravating the problem with his side already holding a two-goal advantage.
The Nigerian’s withdrawal therefore appeared to be a precautionary measure rather than an indication of a serious injury, although no definitive diagnosis or recovery timeline was provided in the report.
Bursaspor will hope the 29-year-old recovers quickly and remains available for their upcoming fixtures as they seek to maintain their momentum in the Turkish second division.
