Iheanacho rejects new Leicester City offer as Aston Villa moves in

cKelechi Iheanacho has reportedly rejected an extension of his current contract which expires this June at Leicester City and the Nigerian is expected to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, according to Football Insider.

The 27 year old has endured a frustrating season with the Foxes in the Sky Bet Championship, playing just 22 times with 12 of the games coming on as a substitute.

He netted six goals across all competitions for the club he joined from Manchester City in August 2017 with five of the goals coming in 22 Championship games.

The Nigerian has barely featured under Enzo Maresca since the turn of the yearand has not started a Championship game since early December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa has been linked with a move for the Nigerian and it will be his third Premier League team if he joins the Villans after featuring for Manchester City for two seasons viz 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, and seven seasons at the King Power stadium.

He has scored 61 goals, provided 34 assists in 231 games for Leicester City with 30 of the goals scored in 150 Premier League appearances.
