Iheanacho seeking to extend record as highest scoring active player in FA Cup

Kelechi Iheanacho will be hoping to return to action for the first time for Leicester City this year and extend his record as the top scorer amongst the most
active players in the competition.

The Foxes travel to the Vitality stadium on Tuesday to face Premier League side, Bournemouth in the fifth round of the competition and Iheanacho will be
seeking to net his 19th goal in 25 games in the competition.

The Nigerian’s 18 goals from 24 goals are the most scored by any player who is still active in the competition, one more than Harry Kane who has moved on to the German Bundesliga to join Bayern Munich.

The 27 old has not featured for Leicester City this year and has been left out of the squad since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Manchester City man is also the top scoring Nigerian nay African in the history of the competition with his 18 goals are six more than Didier
Drogba who scored 12 times in 29 appearances across nine seasons and also six more than Yakubu Aiyegbeni in 26 matches across eight seasons.

Iheanacho has not scored for Leicester City since October last year while his last FA Cup goal came almost a year ago in the Foxes’ 2-1 loss against
visiting Blackburn Rovers at the King Power stadium.
