Iheanacho seeking to extend scoring record against Aston Villa
Targets 25th goal in 120 EPL games for Leicester City
Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking to extend his scoring record against Aston Villa when he files out with Leicester City in a Premier League encounter Saturday at the King Power stadium.
The Super Eagles star has scored six times in nine appearances against Steven Gerrad’s side and it is the most he has scored against a club in England.
Only one of the goals has however come in the Premier League while three came in the FA Cup and two in two EFL cup games.
The 25 year old Nigerian will also be hoping to score his 25th goal in his 120th Premier League game for the Foxes .
Iheanacho who joined Leicester City from Manchester City in August 2017 has featured 166 times for the 2015 Premier League champions across all competitions, scoring 46 goals and has bagged 28 assists.
Twenty four of the 46 goals have come in the Premier League in 119 appearances which means the Nigerian scored just 12 times in 46 appearances for his former club in the competition.
Today at the King Power stadium, the Nigerian will be seeking a milestone appearance and hopes to crown it with a goal which will be his second in 2022, fourth of the season in 24 games for the Foxes, 25th in 120 games and 37 in 166 appearances in the competition since he made his debut in August 2015.
He will be banking on his scoring record against the Villans to return to scoring ways in the competition 19 days after he scored the Foxes’ only goal in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
He will also be looking to take his assist to three in 10 games, to equal his number of assists against Manchester United and just one behind Crystal Palace, the club he has had most assists against and the club he has scored the second highest number of goals against in England.
