Iheanacho seeking to kick-start Foxes’ relegation fight on 200th game for the club

Nigerian also set to make 190th Premier League appearance

Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking to help kickstart Leicester City’s relegation fight on a day he plays his 200th game for the club he joined from Manchester City in August 2017.

The Foxes are just a point and a place above the relegation zone and will need to start winning games with 10 games left to play in the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Iheanacho has scored 53 times in the 199 games he has played thus far for the Foxes with 28 of the goals coming in 143 Premier League appearances.

The Nigerian will be seeking to get back to the form that saw him made six goal involvements (three goals and three assists) in five games last month across
all competitions.

During the period, the 26 year old was named man of the match in two games viz the 4-2 win at Aston Villa early February and the 4-1 defeat of Tottenham at the King Power stadium two weeks later.

Iheanacho will thus be hoping to start scoring again if he is desirous of staying in the Premier League next season.

He has scored five times in 13 appearances against the Eagles with four of the goals scored in 12 Premier League games. It is the joint most he has scored
against any side in the competition.

If he scores against Crystal Palace on Saturday, it be will the most he has netted against any team in the history of the competition.

The Super Eagles star will also be making his 190th appearance in the Premier League since he made his debut in the competiton in August 2017.

He has scored 40 times to rank the fifth best Nigerian top scorer in the history of the competition while his 24 assists is only bettered by the trio of Kanu Nwankwo (29), Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Alex Iwobi (26 each).
