Iheanacho targets first Premier League goal of season

Seeks third goal in eight games against Brighton

 

Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking his first start Premier League on his ffith attempt when his club, Leicester City visit the Amex stadium on Sunday for their matchweek six fixture.

The 26 year old Nigerian has made four substitute appearances for the Foxes so far this term and bagged one assist. He has however not scored in the league since May when he netted Leicester City’s only goal in their 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Iheanacho will be banking on his goal record against Graham Potter’s side to open his season’s goal account.

The Nigerian has scored twice and bagged an assist in seven games across all competitions against Brighton and will be hoping to score his second league goal at the Amex after netting in the Foxes’ 2-1 in March 2021.

The former Manchester City’s other goal came in the Foxes’ 1-0 FA Cup win in February 2021 at the King Power stadium.

Wilfred Ndidi, Iheanacho’s compatriot at Leicester City will be making his 11th appearance against The Seagulls if he gets to play on Sunday.
