Iheanacho Targets Fourth Goal In 10 Games Vs Man United
Nigerian international forward Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking to score his fourth goal in 10 games across all competitions against Manchester United Saturday afternoon.
Iheanacho has not scored in the league for the Leicester City since last Boxing Day when he scored once and bagged two assists in the Foxes’ 6-3 capitulation to Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.
The 25 year old will now be banking on his scoring record against the Red Devils to return to scoring ways.
Iheanacho has scored once in the league and twice in the FA Cup against Man United with his last coming in the Foxes’ 3-1 FA Cup quarterfinal win in February last year.
The Nigerian has not scored in the league in five appearances since he fired in the second goal for Manchester City in their 2-1 win at Old Trafford in September 2016. He had earlier provided the assist for Kevin De Bruyne to score the first goal of the game.
Iheanacho has bagged two assists in the league against the Red Devils with the second coming in their first meeting this season, a 4-2 win at the King Power stadium in October 2021.
He will also be seeking his eighth start in 10 games across all competitions against their host.
The Super Eagles forward is yet to lose a game against Man United in which he has either scored or bagged an assist in the Premier League and if he scores his fourth on Saturday, it will be his 36th in 161 Premier League games since he made his debut in the competition in August 2015.
It will also be his 46th in 161 games across all competitions for the Foxes since he joined in 2017.
