Ikogosi Marathon Offers ₦2.5m Top Prize In 17.5km Race

The 2026 Ikogosi 17.5KM Race is set to offer a major financial incentive to elite runners; with the male and female winners each guaranteed a ₦2.5 million prize.

The race, scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, will start at 7am in Ikogosi, Ekiti State, with a total prize structure covering elite athletes and Ekiti indigenes.

The male and female elite champions will each receive ₦2.5 million, while second place attracts ₦2 million, third ₦1.5 million, fourth ₦1 million and fifth ₦500,000.

The organisers have also created a separate prize category for Ekiti male and female indigenes, with each winner receiving ₦2 million.

The second-place indigenous finishers will pocket ₦1.5 million, while third, fourth and fifth positions attract ₦1 million, ₦500,000 and ₦200,000 respectively.

Positions six through 10 in both indigenous categories will also receive ₦200,000 each.

The 17.5km event is sponsored by Akin Oyebode, with registration available through the Ikogosi Marathon platform.

With the ₦2.5 million winner’s prize and substantial rewards extending down the finishing order, the 2026 Ikogosi 17.5KM Race is expected to attract strong competition from elite runners and athletes of Ekiti origin.
